Last night I had the opportunity to see one of my favorite singers, Charles Bradley, perform a sold out show at the Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis. His performance was awesome, as were the three costume changes. He strutted, he wiggled, he flew like a bird (they don’t call him the Screaming Eagle of Soul for nothing), he even attempted to do full on splits which is not easy feat for a 65-year-old man. My husband was able to thank him, shake his hand and get his new album, Victim of Love, autographed. I took a few photos last night, many did not turn out due to the lack of light in the venue and the slow lens I had on my camera, but the one above turned out pretty well and effectively captures the mood.
If you have not heard of Charles Bradley, do yourself a favor and go buy one of his records ASAP. You won’t be disappointed.
