Chicken Dance
I came across some excellent posters by designer, Niege Borges. He has illustrated the dance routines of countless famous movies and shows: Little Miss Sunshine, Singing in the Rain, Napoleon Dynamite, Pulp Fiction and, of course my favorite, Arrested Development. Check out more of Niege's work here: http://niegeborges.com.

Sun on your face
Now that spring is officially here in Minnesota, I spent the day enjoying some sun on my pale, winter skin. Next time you are outside, take a moment to revel in the kiss of a warm sunray on your cheek. It is a wonderful feeling.

Evolution of Money
I found an interesting article today on the evolution of the one hundred dollar bill. The top bill is from 1860 and the one below is our newest design. It was really interesting to see all of the changes and revel in the beauty of our money. Call me old fashioned but I prefer the older bills with all the interesting typography and stylized flourishes. Check out the whole post here:

Gin & Juice
Listening to Snoop Dogg, or should I say Snoop Lion now, gave me the inspiration to make this poster.

Monster Lunch
This article made my day: http://www.buzzfeed.com/ggggenji/dad-illustrates-his-kids-sandwich-bags-makes-your-9mo9. A father, who is a graphic designer, has been drawing on his kids' lunch bags and documenting it since 2008. Each design is different and the kids don't see the drawing until lunch time. How sweet!!

Spring is(n't) here
You must be thinking, "Wow, what a nice picture you took back in December". Nope, I woke up to this beautiful, fluffy mess this morning. I think mother nature forgot it is spring! This isn't normal even for Minnesota standards and every single person here, including all the snow lovers, are ready to pack up and move somewhere, anywhere, less snowy.
Daily Typographic Inspiration
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, why not show those problems who is boss and get full off of 'em. This post combines my two favorites things: typography and photography. You can find others like this at: http://betype.co. Happy Friday!

Business Cards
Here is a peak {front and back} at the business cards I recently designed for my team. They are being printed offset on a super thick stock and will be embossed on the front side. I can't wait to see what the final card will look like.

Dear Typography,
For those of you who do not know, I am a typography junky. I can spend hours looking at different typefaces just so I can find the perfect one. I came across this on betype.co, such a nice letter to Typography.

I am a huge fan of curly display fonts and glyphs. This particular font is called Mishka and I am in love with it. You can purchase it here: http://www.youworkforthem.com/font/T2990/mishka.

Wall Mural
This is a wall mural I am currently working on for my employer. The area this will cover is 46 inches wide and 230 inches long. The idea is to lead clients down our long hallway with an infographic that is both informative and fun while showing direction.

Follow your heart
Today I am feeling a bit philosophical and dreamy. My advice is to follow your heart. If you listen, it will tell you where to go. Make your wildest dreams a reality. Go on, I dare you...

Hand drawn Lettering
Here is a peak at some custom lettering I did. The letter forms are based on "Port", a font I have very high regard for. Swashes, swoops, thick and thins.

Navy Monogram
This monogram was created for a male's bar mitzvah invitations and correspondence. I like the simplicity and masculine feel of it.

Map of Fun
Here is a peak inside the Chicago Destination Wedding Booklet I have been working on. The bride and Groom made a list of all their favorite places for guests to check out over their wedding weekend. Creating this map definitely made me want to take a trip to Chicago! More to come on this...
